Miss Joanna is our 1st Year Pre-K teacher. She has been at Stepping Stones for over 4 years, and has worked with kids for over 10 years – from serving as a Summer Camp Assistant Director to teaching Kindergarten enrichment classes. A Gig Harbor native, she has her Childhood Development Associate (C.D.A.) credential and is working on her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Her professional goal is to earn her Master’s degree in Special Education or Curriculum and Instruction.
The most inspirational part of teaching preschool for her is watching how much progress a child can make in just a few short months. She says, “I love it when children get excited about coming to school to learn new things! My goal is to make school a fun, sage and engaging place for any child that walks through our classroom door.”
Joanna is blessed with a large family including 3 older sisters and 2 younger brothers. Her husband and her met as kids at church, but never would they imagine that as adults they would start dating and get married! They enjoying the outdoors including hanging out on the tropical beaches of Maui or camping in the cold Washington rains.
